Many times, writers have a pastiche of images, moments, and bits of dialogue floating around in their imagination that connect with a certain story they need to tell. Often, they end-up being key moments in their story. Make sure to write these down and keep them in a file somewhere, so you don’t forget them.
Other times, writers feel an attraction too, or resonance with, certain images, ideas, quotes, or news article but don’t know why.
